About

If you’re here, you probably already know us. But in case you don’t: we are a couple from Washington, D.C., and in late August of 2008, we found ourselves with a grand opportunity to take a trip. A long trip. A ROAD TRIP. In the spring of 2008, we had visited Salt Lake City, and while we were there we rented a car and drove out to the salt flats. We loved seeing an amazing new (to us) part of the country, so we decided to see even more of it the next time around. We drove from DC to Maryland to South Dakota to California to Colorado and back, and we started this blog to share our adventures with friends and family… virtually, of course. That trip was so successful we extended it into multiple road trips. Now, we’re sharing our travel stories, photos, and other interesting life events here. Thanks for visiting our site!

  5. Hey Riz, so glad you stopped by! We definitely did not get to spend enough time in Rhode Island on this trip, so I’m sure we’ll be back soon. I just looked up waterfire and it sounds amazing! I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog. This really has been an unbelievable trip and we feel really lucky to have been able to take it. The trip was definitely not for work… it was purely for fun. We lucked into a situation where we were able to take several weeks off, so we’re taking advantage of it. It was so nice to meet you… one of the great benefits of this trip has been all of the wonderful people we’ve met along the way. Keep checking back, we’ll be traveling on and off for most of the rest of the year. -Brian

  6. Dear Brian and Isabel:

Thank you for keeping up the blog. I enjoyed all the photos on your trip to Austin, even down to Hank’s burgers in Tulsa. It is amazing that so many of your pictures bring back such memories. I’m glad that you got to see the beloved Long Horns.

Isabel, I was so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. She was a remarkable woman, and I’m so glad that you had her in your life.

Hope all is going well with the new job and I k now that Brian is doing well too. Rented your apartment to a very nice girl that is moving from 2700. She is so excited.

Still cold here, and it’s getting a little old.

Take care and write when you can.

    Love,
    Brenda
